Lucy Lou is a spritely little girl with a happy go-lucky personality. At first, Lucy can be a little shy when meeting new people however her fun loving self soon shines. She enjoys all treats, especially a Kong filled with delicious foods like peanut butter and some cooked chicken! When meeting with other dogs, Lucy would prefer quick interactions. If her canine friends do get too excitable or get in her face, she may tell them to back away with a subtle growl. Generally after an appropriate quick sniff she is happy to continue on her walk. Lucy is a special girl, she was born with a concaved chest which has caused her heart to be positioned more dorsally and a few of her organs to be in slightly different places. This has caused a mild abnormal heart beat when she is ultra excited but is absent when she is resting. She has seen a specialist vet which cleared her for adoption without any treatment at this time. Please be aware just like any dog, we cannot guarantee her health in the future and heart issues can arise very quickly. The vets have suggested that she has yearly ultra sounds of her heart just to check up on any changes.
Lucy will require a home that is able to meet her requirements.
She would benefit in a home with a yard (small is ok!) with older or no children and she wouldn’t mind if you worked full time or not! We have hope that her forever home is out there, if you feel your home is the one, please contact us today for more information. Lucy is available now on a foster to adopt basis.
