Oh Alvin, you are simply adorable! At almost 4 years of age, Alvin is your typical “teenage boy”- always hungry, really playful, quite cheeky but growing into a strapping, well-mannered young lad.
Alvin loves to play with his toys and do zoomies around the yards holding one, sometimes two, in his mouth. He’ll then come over with a mischievous grin and wagging tail all but begging us to play with him.
So, he’ll definitely suit a home where he has a backyard for this activity and is taken for a daily walk.
Alvin is also really fond of treats! He’s learning that all good behaviours are rewarded with a liver treats and he’s going from strength to strength with his basic obedience training. He’s now walking lovely on the lead and eagerly jumps in the car and snoozes until we’ve reached our destination.
He’s shown good ability to cope for short periods on his own and will be able to work up that time alone so long as he has a clam shell to splash in and look for hidden treats in and some puzzle toys.
Alvin is best suited to owners who work part time because he needs someone to help him play fetch! He’ll benefit from a quiet household with older/no children to help him find his feet.
Alvin is available on a foster to adopt basis.
Alvin is currently serving time in our Women’s Correctional Centre as part of our Prison Pets Program in Western Sydney. This offers highly rewarding and beneficial schedules for the Greyhounds to assist them in preparation for life on the outside.
As well as being behaviourally assessed, Alvin has:
- a C5 vaccination
- been desexed
- been microchipped
- been intestinally wormed
- been heartworm tested
- had flea and heartworm prevention
- been LIFETIME REGISTERED (no need to register with your council – this is all done as part of the Lifetime Registration)
