Sir Eddy is here to eat your treats, do lots of zoomies then sleep the day away! Even though he is 5.5yo, he is a very happy fellow that loves to play and full of beans. He has shown to have good manners with other dogs of all sizes, copes well on his own for moderate periods of time and walks well on the lead. We feel Eddy would be best suited to a home with a yard with or without a med/large canine companion, part time workers and teenage children.

Here’s what his foster carer had to say about him:
“Eddy is doing great! He really has been the perfect dog! Aside from occasionally jumping up on us- he has no bad behaviours to speak of!”.

“I imagine he had a lot of groupies during his racing career because this boy is an absolute love machine and is always keen for a cuddle on the couch as long as it’s not too hot. He will often wriggle under my arm and put his snoot on my shoulder and fall asleep! Unlike other greys he will often kiss us on the face and will (try) to sit on our lap – not comfortable for anyone but such a sweet gesture!

He likes pooping on tree trunks during walks and doing an opera performance outside our bedroom door every morning at 6am – we love these things about him! He has never been aggressive towards us or damaged any of our things – left with a few toys or a bone he seems happy on his own but definitely prefers the company of humans. We introduced him to a couple of other dogs and he is perfectly friendly towards them but is still a bit too interested in cats.

He’s a hungry hippo who will eat anything, but doesn’t bother us when we’re eating on the couch if we are firm with him. Aside from that he’s just an all round goofball! I would love to keep him! He’s the most polite, loving and loyal pooch we could have hoped for.”

Eddy is currently serving time in our Women’s Correctional Centre as part of our Prison Pets Program in Western Sydney. This offers highly rewarding and beneficial schedules for the Greyhounds to assist them in preparation for life on the outside.
