Foster care update: "He is doing really well. We have been walking him which he loves, we’ve been teaching him to wait when he comes to a road. We’ve also been teaching him to go to his bed. He hasn’t had a toileting accident inside at all. He has been great with the kids, because of their age I feel he may be better suited to older kids who wouldn’t leave toys laying around from him to grab. He has been a delight so far!"
Never have we ever met such an adorable love bug who loves to place his head on your lap or give you a hug. He is learning to enjoy his new world everyday. Elliot is a very confident boy, loved being with kids in foster and loved being around his humans. He can be left alone for part time hours approx 3-5 hours, and likes laying in the sunshine in the yard.
He may only have 3 legs but this doesn't really slow Elliot down, he can still do most things 4 legged greys can. He can do some carpeted stairs, go on walks (which he loves!). However he has some balance issues with certain flooring eg shiny wooden floorboards or tiles can feel uneasy under his paws. He prefers a home with carpet, and a more flat backyard, as rocky/uneven surfaces can be difficult to keep his balance on.
Elliot has lived with 2 kiddos 6 + 8 years old and would love a forever home with kids, as long as the kids have large breed dog experience or greyhound experience, and that the kids don't have any fluffy toys he may want to claim as his own, as he loves toys!
He would be great for a home with another medium to large dog looking for company as he has been in foster with a coolie X.
His nature is truly exceptionally and if you can offer Elliot a loving forever home, then contact us today for more information.
Elliot is currently in foster care with a family but is available for adoption from our Londonderry site.
