*Foster Carer update*

Pluto is doing really well.

He is getting the hang of this house thing.

He was very sticky at the beginning and still is but I can see him getting better with this every day. Sometimes he takes himself into the yard on his own and hangs out for a bit. He wouldn’t leave my side in the beginning. He walked up his first set of big stairs the other day, no problem.

He is great with letting us know he needs to go to the toilet. No accidents at all. I usually get a morning bark around the 5am to 6am mark that lets me know he is ready to go outside and go to the toilet.

He is excellent with little people. Two 18 month olds visit us regularly and he is fine with them and they are fine with him. The only thing he does is try to eat the food out of their hands, he is food crazy.

Walking on the lead he is really good, I think he is still a little timid outside the house/yard, he sticks to my thigh like glue. He has shown no aggression to other dogs when walking. We did see a cat the other day and he was very interested in getting closer to that! That’s really the only thing he has shown much interest in. No interest in birds that come into the yard. When other dogs walk past our yard on the reserve he is a little interested, sometimes scared, it might just be dog dependant at this stage or he is just getting used to all the different kind of dogs out there.

He gets sardines/tuna or salmon with breakfast and mince with dinner.

When left alone in the yard he has not been destructive. He has done some days where he has been home around 6 hours on his own and he handles it fine. He is still a little jumpy when you first see him in the morning or when we get home. We ignore this and turn our backs but not really seeing any improvement, after about 10 seconds he stops. We reward him regularly for doing nothing/the right thing.

This handsome Pluto pup has quickly settled in and very excited to meet his new forever family! Pluto is nearly 4yo and is currently living in is foster home located in the Newcastle region. He is living as an only dog with a part time worker, has access to a backyard and sleeping inside of a night time. Pluto is thriving in his foster home and he would love to find his forever home that has a similar lifestyle- with older or no children. Pluto can by quite strong on the leash, we feel a harness would benefit him while walking.

Pluto is available now, please contact us if you would like to further your interest in this gorgeous boy!
