Roy Orbison wore dark sunglasses as his trademark. Our GAP version of Roy Orbison wears a grey beard as his.
Meet Roy, the rising 8year old silver fox of the Western Sydney facility. He’s a dashing man who loves to swoon the “Pretty Women” with his suave ways.
Although, he’s getting up there in age, don’t be fooled! Roy loves to jump in the car and go on exciting adventures and walks. He will start “singing” at about the half hour mark of the trip wanting to know if he’s there yet! So, he’ll thrive with a family who want to take short car trips of a weekend with him once he’s settled in. His basic obedience training is coming along well and adopters who have large dog experience too will really be a winning combination for him.
He’s shown to cope well for moderate periods of time on his own and is getting the hang of hanging out by himself more every day. Roy loves his treats so enriching games that involve food are a #1 hit. Hard chew toys are also a favourite past time of his as he entertains himself playing fetch with them, when he’s not entertaining us of course!
He’ll need a backyard as he loves to do typical Greyhound things like zoomies and snoozing on his hessian bed in the sunshine.
If Roy sounds like music to your ears, jump over to our application section and give him the standing ovation of a forever home that he deserves. He is available to adopt for $150.
Roy is currently serving time in our Women’s Correctional Centre as part of our Prison Pets Program in Western Sydney. This offers highly rewarding and beneficial schedules for the Greyhounds to assist them in preparation for life on the outside.
As well as being behaviourally assessed, Roy has:
- a C5 vaccination
- been desexed
- been microchipped
- been intestinally wormed
- been heartworm tested
- had flea and heartworm prevention
- been LIFETIME REGISTERED (no need to register with your council – this is all done as part of the Lifetime Registration)
