Event Details:

Make no mistake; this is one of our BIGGEST adoption days for the year!

We are so excited to partner with the Norman Lindsay Gallery on their first ever “Dog Day at Norman Lindsay Gallery”. If you love dogs, beautiful gardens, classic Australian art and are looking for a new best friend; this day is made for you!

Hosted on their beautiful grounds, we will have 30-40 of the most beautiful greyhounds we have for adoption right now. There will be plenty of fun activities outside for the family, and it is all FREE! Canines can channel their inner artist with dog paw painting and sit in a photo booth dressed like an artist. There will also be a fantastic range of goodies; you can get professional pup portraits, a range of stalls, and so much more!

We will have our resident experts on hand to discuss all you may want to know about living with a greyhound as a pet; they will help you understand which greyhound is best for you and answer any questions you can think about their behaviour, health or whatever else you want to know – spoiler alert, it’s basically all good!

Come along and bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds or purchase something tasty from the BBQ -it’s your choice!

As an added bonus, you can get a culture fix after your dog fix! Did you know that animals are a common theme in the paintings of Norman Lindsay? Why not check out the Wagging Tails exhibition on the day? Entry to the gallery ($10 cash on the day).

HOW TO REGISTER

Register to get a sneak peek at the Adoption Day Dog-a-logue with details of all the greyhounds we’ll be bringing to the event!

See you there!

Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Dog Day Out at Norman Lindsay Gallery and we hope you enjoy your visit.
This is a community event with families and children attending so to ensure everyone’s safety we ask that you follow the terms and conditions of entry:
Children must be supervised at all times, particularly near dogs and not wander into the bushland on their own. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Dogs must remain on a leash at all times when they are on the grounds. Be mindful that the adjoining bush is home to native animals and also ticks so please keep your dog in the grassed areas. Please pick up any droppings – bags and bins are available for this purpose.
Please ask permission of the owner before approaching or patting another person’s dog.
No aggressive or behaviourally challenged animals permitted. If your dog is unwell or suffering from any contagious illness please do not attend.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask you to leave if your dog is not under effective control, showing signs of aggression, excessively barking and or fighting or lunging.
We are not responsible for any damage or injury inflicted on any dog by another dog or persons attending the event.
In the event of an emergency please follow the instructions of the master of ceremonies.
By attending this event you grant permission to be photographed by our photographers. These images may be used at any time in the future to promote the National Trust of Australia (NSW) the event organiser.

Greyhound Adoption Days

The best chance to get to know your new best friend. Our dog adoption days let you meet all types of greyhounds with unique personalities. We promise that you’ll fall in love with at least one special friend following a session of patting, cuddling and scratching at a pet adoption day. Learn everything that you need to know about the adoption journey and get a feel for which pet might be the best fit for your family.

We place greyhounds in homes based on their personality so everyone gets a perfect match. Feel free to ask away and our friendly team will answer all of your questions. A dog adoption day with Greyhounds As Pets is the first step towards bringing a four-legged friend into your life.

Pre-Assessment Days

We hold pre-assessment days that will determine whether your greyhounds are suitable for life as a pet and entry into the GAP program . To be eligible, we’ll ask for proof of C5 vaccinations and at least a 4 week let down period after their last race/trial. A general details form will also need to be completed and returned to us before confirming any future appointments.

Please contact our team for further information on booking a pre-assessing session.
