Location:Hunter Valley Mid Coast (Maitland/ Muswellbrook/Newcastle/Forster)
Andy is, quite simply, a gem. Described by his foster carers as one of the calmest and friendliest dogs they've ever had the pleasure of caring for, he’s the kind of companion who quietly slips into your life and heart — and makes himself at home as if he’s always belonged.
Since arriving in foster care, Andy has settled in beautifully. He’s gentle, quiet, and wonderfully relaxed, showing little interest in loud noises or distractions, and rarely barks. Whether it’s curling up indoors or lounging outside in the sun, Andy is happy doing his own thing — the very definition of an easy-going greyhound.
Exercise & Lifestyle:
Andy isn’t one for long treks — just a couple of short daily walks (10–20 minutes) suit him perfectly. He walks brilliantly on lead and is equally happy strolling through the neighbourhood or joining you for a quiet beach visit.
He’s also a fantastic traveller and would love to be part of your weekend getaways. Whether it's a trip to the coast or a camping adventure, Andy takes it all in stride and is just happy to be included.
Family & Social Life:
Andy is a natural with children. He recently spent an entire weekend being doted on by two young nephews (18 months and 5 years old) and remained gentle, patient, and completely unfazed throughout.
He’s also very social with other dogs, big and small. He quickly bonded with two small Jack Russells and has shown friendly interest in the greyhound next door. While he doesn’t require a canine companion, he’d likely enjoy having a doggy friend around.
Ideal Home:
A household with time to walk and gently engage with him each day
Children and other dogs welcome – Andy is a calm and patient friend to all
Someone looking for a gentle, low-maintenance companion who thrives on simple pleasures
