Mabel is a gentle, affectionate greyhound who has shown a wonderful willingness to engage with her people. She enjoys spending time with her handlers, learning new skills and working together through training. She is a food-motivated girl who has quickly picked up new routines including crate training, settling on a bed and responding to her name for recalls. 

Mabel can be a little unsure in new environments and benefits from a patient approach that allows her time to process the world around her. When given space and support, she is able to relax, explore, sniff and connect with her handler. During walks she enjoys investigating her surroundings and has shown she can recover and continue when things feel a little overwhelming. 

At home, Mabel is likely to be a lovely companion who enjoys quiet time with her family. She has demonstrated the ability to settle calmly, including resting and sleeping when left alone during assessments. She has also enjoyed bed training, choosing to relax on her bed and settle for longer periods. 

Mabel’s new family should understand that she is still learning about social interactions with other dogs. She can walk calmly around other dogs and disengage well, but she can become uncomfortable when another dog approaches her directly or investigates her closely. 

With the right home, Mabel has the potential to become a wonderful, affectionate companion who continues to grow in confidence.
