Foster update: He is fine when left alone will entertain himself with nil issues if he has his toys. No signs of separation anxiety, just lounges around the yard and dozes the day away.
He loves squeaky soft toys and plays a greyhound version of fetch (will go and retrieve the toy but will return it to a place he chooses with the expectation you will throw it again).
When he's super happy he does helicopter waggy tails, he's really fun and goofy that kinda makes you forget he's 6 years old.
He sometimes forgets about his size and thinks he could be a lap dog (has attempted to become a lap dog on a number of occasions with hilarious awkwardness).
Will attempt to steal or play with toys/shoes/slippers/clothes/blankets that aren't his but is always very gently and immediately drops whatever it is when told to do so (may become a clepto if allowed to).
On a leash for walks he never pulls is just happy walking along with you, if jogging also loves a little canter. Not much really phases him only thing so far is hearing basketball constantly bouncing he froze, with encouragement and reassurance he was fine to continue his walk without issue. He has seen ducks and ibis and other dogs on walks and it hasn't fazed him so far.
He is good with kids when supervised and very respectful and confident and gentle when meeting new people including elderly people never jumps.

Matty may have the distinguished looks of an older gentleman, but he still has plenty of life and love to share. He is a calm, gentle soul with lovely manners and a relaxed approach to the world.
He walks politely on lead, is friendly with new people and enjoys quietly exploring his surroundings. Matty is comfortable with handling and has a soft, easy-going nature that makes him a pleasure to spend time with. He also enjoys toys, particularly anything with a good squeaker.
Matty has shown gentle and appropriate behaviour around smaller dogs and has previously lived alongside a Staffy and would suit a home with a calm big dog or a sweet natured small dog.
Matty could suit a range of home environments, with school aged children, full time workers with a yard, or courtyard/townhouses. With his calm nature and gentle side, he is a wonderful match for so many homes.
